How to install sp2 over sp1

This information tells u how to change product key of xp and installing xp sp2.

u cannot install xp sp2 over xp sp1, until u change the xp product key.

here is the small tip to changing xp product key & install xp sp2.

pin to "START--> RUN-->" type "regedit"

then follow the route

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\m*cro$oft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents"

on the right window u find "OOBETimer".

double click on it and in 2nd row change the last 2 digit number to some other number

[e.g,. 0000 FF D5 71 D6 8B 6A 8D 6F some value
0000 d5 33 93 56 some value ]

change 56 in e.g, to some other number.

and close the registry window.

again pin to "START-->RUN-->" type the following command and enter.

"\WINDOWS\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a"

u get a blue screen window saying " Lets activate Windows " select 2nd option

"yes, i want to telephone a customer service representative to activate windows"

press "Change Product key" and enter new product key press "Update"
once updated close the window.
and install the xp sp2.
